11 Feb
Summary
- Traffic diversions in central Delhi may impact board exams.
- 34 schools near Bharat Mandapam face potential traffic disruptions.
- Dedicated officers assigned to schools for traffic coordination.

Board examinations in Delhi are set to coincide with significant traffic disruptions due to VVIP movement for an AI summit. From February 17 to 19, extensive VVIP movements around Bharat Mandapam will necessitate traffic management plans across central and Lutyens' Delhi. This initiative impacts 34 schools within a 5 km radius of the summit venue.
Ten of these schools are designated exam centers for 2,943 students and are positioned along expected traffic corridors for dignitaries. An additional 24 schools in the vicinity may also experience diversions. While authorities assure that plans are in place for smooth student transit, some schools are considering shifting regular classes online to mitigate potential delays. Hotels hosting delegates will also see increased traffic.
Commuters are advised to use alternative routes, with specific suggestions provided for major affected stretches. The Directorate of Education has assured that all arrangements are being coordinated to ensure safe and timely student movement alongside VVIP transit. Parents express concerns about potential delays but are resolved for their children to attend exams as scheduled.
