Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University (DBRAU) in Agra is set to offer a new online cybersecurity course entirely in Hindi. This initiative, a collaboration with IIT Kanpur's C3iHub and the Vivekanand Incubation Foundation (VIF), is designed to equip over 3 lakh students from 570 affiliated colleges with essential digital safety knowledge. The course aims to make cybersecurity education accessible, particularly for students in semi-urban and rural areas.
The curriculum will delve into prevalent online risks, including cybercrime, social media threats, identity theft, and personal data protection. It will also address specific concerns like online safety for women and children, alongside more advanced topics such as the dark web and cyber terrorism. Practical learning will be emphasized through quizzes, workshops, and virtual labs.
In conjunction with the course, DBRAU will inaugurate a Cybersecurity Counselling Cell (CCC). This cell is intended to proactively prevent cybercrime and offer crucial support to students facing online challenges. University officials highlighted the importance of cybersecurity as a vital skill for all students, not just those in engineering, emphasizing the program's value in a comfortable language.
