DAVV Engineering Institute Expands: More Students, Smart Classrooms

Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya's Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET) is set to expand its facilities to enhance its academic offerings and student capacity. The approved plan includes the addition of 11-12 smart classrooms, which will significantly improve the learning environment and technology integration. This expansion is designed to accommodate approximately 500 additional students, easing the pressure on current infrastructure.
The construction of two new floors on the IET building is scheduled to begin in January 2027, with an estimated completion time of eight to nine months. This development aims to address the space constraints faced by the institute, which currently serves over 2,500 students across its 18 academic programs.
Beyond infrastructure, IET plans to introduce two new engineering branches and increase the intake for three existing programs. Furthermore, new diploma and certificate programs tailored to industry needs will be launched, providing students with specialized skill development opportunities alongside their conventional engineering education. The institute aims to strengthen its academic infrastructure and meet future educational demands.
