Cummins in India has marked the 20th anniversary of its Nurturing Brilliance program by welcoming 520 new scholars. This initiative, run by the Cummins India Foundation, aims to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds in pursuing engineering diplomas and degrees.
The program has seen significant growth since its inception in Pune with 13 students in 2006. This year, it received over 9,600 applications, selecting 520 scholars, including 20 with disabilities. To date, Nurturing Brilliance has positively impacted over 3,100 students, with 52% beneficiaries being girls.
Beyond financial assistance for tuition and academic expenses, the program offers holistic development. Scholars benefit from structured mentorship, industry exposure, and training in soft skills and career readiness. The initiative fosters a strong network for continuous learning and professional growth.
The Nurturing Brilliance program now operates as a digitally enabled platform across key industrial hubs in India. These include Pune, Phaltan, Ahilyanagar, Indore, Jamshedpur, Dharashiv, Vidisha, Guna, and Ranchi, creating pathways from ambition to opportunity for aspiring engineers.
