The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a crucial notice detailing provisions for candidates with disabilities taking the CTET 2026 examination. These facilities, including scribe assistance and compensatory time, are exclusively for individuals identified as persons with benchmark disabilities under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act, 2016. Strict adherence to documentation requirements, such as a valid disability certificate and UDID card, is mandatory for eligibility.
For candidates facing writing difficulties, a certificate from a government medical authority is necessary. Scribes must meet specific qualifications, being at least matriculate and one academic year below the minimum qualification for the CTET exam. An interaction session with the scribe is permitted before the exam for suitability assessment. Eligible candidates are entitled to at least 50 minutes of compensatory time for every hour of the examination, as per government directives.
Visually impaired candidates will have the option of receiving question papers in a large font, alongside the standard version. All required original disability certificates must be presented to the centre superintendent before the examination commences. Failure to produce the necessary documentation will result in the forfeiture of scribe and compensatory time benefits. The notice also details the process for applying for these accommodations.
