Isabella Thoburn College revived its Baccalaureate awards ceremony on Friday, celebrating the academic session of 2025-26. This significant event had been discontinued for nearly five years, resuming only after the Covid-19 pandemic subsided.
The hall was filled with students adorned in elegant white sarees and kurtis, clutching their certificates, medals, and fellowships. Proud parents were present, capturing this milestone moment with photographs of their graduating children.
The traditional lamp of knowledge was illuminated by the chief guest, Bishop C Selvin, alongside retiring faculty members Prof Seema Joshi, Prof Vinita Vijai, and Paul Mathew. Husna Ansari was notably felicitated for securing three gold medals at Lucknow University for her outstanding performance in Mathematics in 2024.
Further recognizing academic achievement, selected meritorious students were awarded scholarships. Mahek Walter received the Isabella Thoburn Scholarship, Jessica Pauline Lakra the Mary E Shannon Scholarship, Asna Wajahat Alam the Marjorie Dimmit Scholarship, and Mahi Singh the Olive Reddick Scholarship. Naina Tiwari and Anushka Singh were honored with the Sara Chakko Fellowship. Toppers from various courses and students active in extracurricular pursuits also received accolades.
