1 Nov
Summary
- Classmates from 1965 batch reunite 60 years later
- Laughter, chatter, and familiar chaos fill the school corridors
- Classmates become students again, reliving their school days

On November 1, 2025, the corridors of Govt Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 16, Chandigarh, once again reverberated with the familiar sounds of laughter, chatter, and chaos as the 1965 batch returned to their alma mater. Sixty years after they first walked out of these halls, the classmates reunited in a heartwarming celebration of their enduring bonds.
As they stepped back into their old classrooms, the former students didn't just meet—they became students again. Roll calls were mockingly answered, gentle complaints were hurled at the "teacher" about the noisy class, and friendly jibes flew across the room. The decades melted away as the air filled with laughter and nostalgia.
The driving force behind this reunion was Upinder Dhinsa, a former executive with Raytheon Technologies, who spent nearly three years tracking down classmates from across the globe. Dhinsa had created a WhatsApp group to reconnect the batch and rekindle old friendships. He also brought along a precious memento—a notebook filled with farewell notes the classmates had written to each other on their last day of school.
The reunion was a celebration of the class's distinguished alumni, including a tea estate owner, an advocate, the wife of a motivational speaker, and their former cricket team captain. The formal event in the school hall featured cultural performances by current students, and the alumni gave back to their alma mater with generous donations.
As the 1965 batch bid farewell, the laughter and camaraderie they shared proved that while the years may pass, some bonds remain timeless.
