Chandigarh University, in collaboration with Intel India, has inaugurated the 'IndiaAI Data Lab' on its campus. This dedicated facility aims to equip students with essential industry-relevant skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science, thereby improving their employability.
The lab is designed to serve as a simulated apprenticeship platform, providing computing and computer science engineering students with practical experience and opportunities to work on real-world projects. This initiative is a result of nearly three years of planning and collaboration between the university and Intel India.
Further strengthening their academic partnership, Chandigarh University has also launched new MCA (Data Science) and BCA (Data Science) programs with Intel India. A unique feature of these programs is the provision for students to earn Intel Certifications each semester, enhancing their readiness for the digital economy.
This collaboration has already seen positive outcomes, including a summer school program, 'AI for Future Workforce', which trained over 2,000 students. Notably, students from the university secured second place nationally at the Intel AI Summit last year, underscoring the effectiveness of industry-integrated learning.
