On February 18, 2026, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted its Class 12 Physical Education theory examination. Educators across India have analyzed the paper, largely deeming it balanced, syllabus-oriented, and competency-based. Shyam Rajan Varghese from JAIN International Residential School, Bengaluru, highlighted that the 70-mark paper included various question formats to comprehensively assess student knowledge.
Experts like Nariender Tokas from DPS Gurugram and Sakshi Gupta from Global Indian International School, Noida, agreed the paper was well-structured and manageable. Gupta specifically noted that the exam felt relatively easier compared to the previous year. The questions were primarily concept-based, rewarding students with clear understanding and systematic preparation.
Dr. Alka Kapur, Principal of Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh, confirmed the paper adequately covered the prescribed syllabus, with direct questions and some requiring higher-order thinking. Overall, the assessment reflected CBSE's progressive approach, emphasizing understanding and analytical skills over rote memorization.
