Canadian and Indian universities are set to establish numerous partnerships, focusing on research and student exchanges. Universities Canada is leading this new strategy, emphasizing that education and research are crucial for renewing relations between the two nations. This initiative was announced during Prime Minister Mark Carney's recent four-day visit to India.
Thirteen university collaborations are part of this strategy. These include partnerships for artificial intelligence research between the University of Toronto and the Indian Institute of Science. Dalhousie University will engage in climate-resilient agriculture research with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and launch a nursing dual degree program with SRM Institute of Science and Technology. The University of British Columbia will also facilitate exchanges and research with O.P. Jindal Global University.
