Caitlin Ostbye, a proud graduate of Mitchell High School, is returning to her roots to join Dakota Wesleyan University's track and field program as an assistant coach. Ostbye's new role at DWU will also encompass responsibilities as an associate registrar, blending athletic and administrative duties.
Prior to this appointment, Ostbye spent the 2025-26 academic year gaining valuable experience as a graduate assistant at Augustana University. There, she contributed to strength and conditioning and track and field programs, overseeing various sports including track, tennis, and golf. Her background includes previous assistant roles at Augustana and Northwestern College, where she also competed collegiately.
Ostbye's collegiate athletic career was marked by significant achievements in sprinting. She earned multiple all-conference honors at both Augustana and Northwestern College, including a spot on an All-American indoor 4x400-meter relay team. She completed her master's degree in sports administration and leadership from Augustana in 2025.
