BPSC Revolutionizes Exam Security with Multi-Layered Defense
1 May
Summary
- Six-layer security for question boxes prevents tampering.
- GPS-enabled CCTV surveillance tracks transport vehicles.
- Printers and transport hired from outside Bihar to ensure fairness.

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has introduced a comprehensive overhaul of its examination security protocols, incorporating multi-layered protection for question papers and advanced surveillance. This initiative, driven by past paper leak incidents, aims to prevent malpractices and ensure exam integrity.
The revamped security system features six distinct layers for question boxes, including specialized wrapping, alphanumeric locks, and tamper-evident seals. Question papers are now assembled from multiple sets, with the final set selected by lottery just hours before the exam.
Transport vehicles carrying examination materials are equipped with GPS trackers and CCTV cameras, with drivers and security personnel vetted and sourced from outside Bihar and neighboring states. Printers are also external, ensuring a neutral process for question paper assembly and vetting.
These stringent measures are designed to address vulnerabilities, particularly in the transportation phase, which was a key area for past leaks. The BPSC is also focusing on enhancing biometric checks to prevent impersonation, aiming for a completely secure examination process.
