- Children can walk through plots and harvest leafy greens.
- The museum showcases 60 varieties of vegetables, flowers, and fruits.

A unique 'Crop Museum' has been established by the College of Horticulture under the University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot, to address the growing disconnect between food production and consumption in urban areas. This initiative aims to provide children with a practical understanding of horticulture and the origins of their food.
The living museum, located at the ongoing Sasya Santhe event in Bengaluru, spans 1.5 acres and features nearly 60 varieties of vegetables, flowers, and fruits under cultivation. Unlike traditional museums, it allows visitors to walk through dedicated plots of living plants.
This hands-on approach is designed to offer urban children exposure to farming, particularly vegetable and fruit cultivation. They are permitted to harvest leafy greens, fostering curiosity about gardening and the lives of farmers. The museum includes diverse crops like tomatoes, brinjal, chilli, okra, and various leafy greens, alongside flowers and medicinal plants.
