Bengal Teachers Honored for Innovative Pedagogy

Two educators from Bengal have been selected to receive the National Teachers' Award from President Droupadi Murmu on September 5 in New Delhi. Shantanu Patra, a geography teacher, has developed a unique teaching method at his school in Jhargram.

Patra's pedagogy incorporates technology, nature, and culture, featuring distinct learning stations. He addresses limitations faced by students from disadvantaged backgrounds by providing modern learning experiences, a feat now recognized with this national honor.

Palash Chowdhury, headmaster of a primary school in Burdwan, has digitized the institution's operations. He introduced a mobile app for daily parent updates and personalized learning based on individual student needs. Chowdhury also personally funds a breakfast program for students.

He emphasized that this award is a collective recognition of the entire school community, including teachers, staff, students, and parents, highlighting their shared commitment to education.
