Summary
- Sanskrit teacher uses AI-assisted gaming lab for interactive learning.
- Online portal features games for grammar, vocabulary, and verses.
- Zero-cost initiative is easily replicable across schools nationwide.
In Bhopal, a unique approach is transforming the way students learn Sanskrit. Abhishek Tiwari, a Sanskrit teacher at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya-1, has developed an AI-assisted gaming laboratory to make the ancient language more engaging.
Frustrated by students viewing Sanskrit as a mere 'pass' subject, Tiwari leveraged generative AI to mine textbooks and translate educational objectives into interactive content. The result is a free online portal featuring games like 'Frog Jump' and word-search puzzles.
These gamified modules, including a 'Kaun Banega Crorepati'-style quiz and memory games, aim to boost student motivation. Early feedback indicates students are spending more time learning Sanskrit through these games, improving comprehension in a low-pressure environment.
Remarkably, this initiative has no associated costs, utilizing only free AI tools. The school has recommended the AI-enabled learning model for national recognition and promotion across other Kendriya Vidyalayas, with plans to expand the portal to multiple languages and integrate it into language labs.
