Children at Aakaash Special School, part of the M.S. Chellamuthu Trust & Research Foundation, recently celebrated Navarathri golu with great enthusiasm. Special needs children, aged 6 to 16, from disadvantaged families participated in the traditional nine-step golu display by bringing dolls from their homes.
The school premises were decorated with colorful rangoli designs, created by the students under the guidance of special educators. Daily prayers and bhajans created a devoted atmosphere, with parents actively joining in, embodying the school's "Parents as Partners in Care" philosophy.
This celebration offered significant developmental opportunities for the children, enhancing their social skills, patience, and cultural awareness. It also promoted parental involvement and the inclusion of children with disabilities in community activities, reinforcing the school's mission to create a joyful and inclusive environment.
