The Crypt School in Gloucester is embarking on an ambitious fundraising initiative to construct a new creative and performing arts centre. This proposed facility, to be named the Charles Lepper Centre, requires an estimated £6 million for completion.
The centre will feature a versatile 240-seat performance area, dedicated rehearsal and teaching spaces, and professional recording studios. The project is planned in two phases over five years, with each phase needing approximately £3 million.
Headmaster Nicholas Dyer stated that the new centre will enable students to reach their full potential and offer new opportunities for Gloucester's residents. Currently, students rehearse in inadequate spaces like classrooms and corridors.
The school is actively seeking donations from individuals, alumni, businesses, and charitable organisations to support this significant undertaking. Development manager Sarah Veal highlighted the project's focus on ensuring creative exploration opportunities for all young people and fostering community connection.
