St. John's Medical College in Bengaluru recently celebrated its 59th Annual Undergraduate Convocation, conferring degrees upon 150 aspiring healthcare professionals. The graduating cohort demonstrated exceptional academic achievement with a perfect 100% pass rate.
This year's batch also distinguished itself by securing multiple university ranks. Akshay Ajoy, Ananya Varshney, Rachel Ranjan, Suzanne Mary Stephen, and Zainab Fathima were among the top performers, earning accolades in subjects ranging from Community Medicine to Microbiology.
Fr. Jose C.C., Vice-Chancellor of Christ (deemed-to-be) University, delivered the convocation address. He invoked a 15th-century maxim for physicians: "Cure sometimes, relieve often, comfort always." This profound statement highlighted the perpetual duty of medical practitioners to offer solace and relief, recognizing that while cures aren't always attainable, comfort remains a constant imperative.
The ceremony, held on Saturday, was attended by distinguished guests including Fr. Jesudoss Rajamanickam, director of St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences, marking a significant milestone for the institution and its graduates.
