A wildland fire, dubbed the Chute fire, ignited north of Dobbins near the Yuba River Drainage on July 13. The affected area is between Dobbins and Bullards Bar.
Firefighting efforts are ongoing, with extensive use of aircraft dropping water and retardant. However, the remote location and rugged terrain, characterized by ravines, make containment difficult. Firefighters are contending with the challenging conditions to protect residents and property.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and it remains 0% contained. Residents in surrounding areas are urged to stay vigilant and monitor updates from local authorities. Those needing extra time to evacuate, including individuals with mobility concerns or those with pets and livestock, are strongly advised to leave immediately.
