- This incident follows a similar one involving a child the prior week.

A 12-year-old skier sustained critical injuries on Sunday morning after crashing on the Allagash Trail at Black Mountain resort in Maine. Officials reported that the child lost control due to rough ground, disconnected from skis, and tumbled into the woods at high speed. The skier was initially treated at the resort's patrol room before being transported by ambulance to Rumford Hospital and subsequently airlifted to Maine Medical Center in Portland.
This incident occurred just eight days after a 9-year-old girl was discovered unconscious on a trail at the same resort. Although no witnesses saw the earlier event, fire officials speculated it involved a collision. The child was in and out of consciousness upon rescue, with authorities describing her condition as critical at the time. The resort expressed its thoughts and prayers for the injured skier's family.
