Winter's wife, Ashley, shared that their 15-year-old daughter, who has Prader-Willi Syndrome, has not grasped that her father is gone. Winter was known for his deep commitment to his family, particularly his special needs daughter, and was a loving father to his three children.
GoFundMe pages have been created to assist Winter's family financially. As of Thursday afternoon, over $16,500 had been raised. The other driver involved, Cody Thomas, was injured and is recovering at home. His family has also launched a GoFundMe, with nearly $10,000 raised to support him and his four children. Thomas was en route to the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy when the collision happened.
