A serious blaze broke out at a factory in Wolverhampton earlier today, generating massive plumes of black smoke and reports of explosions. The incident has been officially declared a major toxic incident by emergency services.
More than 40 firefighters, operating from eight fire engines and specialized vehicles, were rapidly deployed to the scene. The smoke from the fire was visible from approximately six miles away, necessitating public warnings.
Local authorities have urged residents to remain indoors and secure their homes by closing all doors and windows. Drivers have also been advised to steer clear of the affected area to allow emergency responders unobstructed access.
