Pilot's widow sues Boeing over deadly MD-11F crash
28 Feb
Summary
- Widow sues Boeing, GE, and aircraft servicer after husband's death.
- Plane's left engine separated and caught fire shortly after takeoff.
- NTSB preliminary report cited fatigue cracks and fractures in the aircraft.

A lawsuit has been filed by the widow of Capt. Dana Diamond, one of three pilots who perished in a November 4, 2025, UPS cargo plane crash. Donna Diamond is suing Boeing, General Electric, and VT San Antonio Aerospace, alleging negligence and wrongful death. The complaint states the MD-11F aircraft experienced left engine and pylon separation with ensuing fire shortly after takeoff from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.
The National Transportation Safety Board's preliminary investigation revealed that the 34-year-old aircraft suffered fatigue cracks and fractures. Attorneys for the plaintiffs assert that the fatal incident was a result of company failures rather than an accident. GE Aerospace and Boeing have issued statements expressing condolences and confirming their support for the NTSB investigation.
