The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on May 21, 2026, that approximately 215,000 children's toys and baby products are being recalled. These items pose significant risks of serious injury or death.
Recalled products include Orb Funkee toys containing sand potentially mixed with tremolite asbestos, a known carcinogen. PandaEar hook-on baby chairs were recalled due to a faulty restraint system that could lead to fatal falls. Additionally, electronic toys like headbands and novelty figures from ABC Trading Inc. contain easily accessible button-cell batteries, posing a severe ingestion hazard.
No incidents or injuries have been reported for the recalled items to date. However, the CPSC stressed that asbestos exposure and battery ingestion are established causes of severe harm, particularly in children. Companies like Orb Toys, PandaEar, and ABC Trading Inc. have provided instructions for customers to stop using the products immediately and obtain refunds.
