Two Skiers Die at Heavenly Resort on Same Day

Tragedy struck Heavenly Ski Resort on Friday as two skiers lost their lives in separate, unrelated incidents. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office confirmed the identities of the deceased on Monday.
Brian Robert Fraud, a 57-year-old resident of Elk Grove, was pronounced deceased after a medical incident on the Tamarack Return trail. Separately, 33-year-old Nicholas Jamil Haddad from West Bloomfield, Michigan, died following an incident on the Orion trail.
Both the cause and manner of these deaths are currently under investigation. Heavenly Ski Resort's Vice President and General Manager expressed condolences to the families of the victims. These fatalities add to a concerning series of ski-related deaths in the Sierra Nevada this month, including a recent deadly avalanche and other incidents at nearby resorts.
