A devastating road accident on Sunday night resulted in the deaths of two contract forest department watchers. The victims, identified as Krishna, 26, from Kamalapura, and Hanumanthappa, 50, from Venkatapura, were traveling on their motorcycle near Venkatapura village when the incident occurred.
They were on duty at the time of the accident. A speeding Bolero goods vehicle collided with their bike with considerable force. The severe impact led to immediate fatalities at the scene. Hampi CPI Rajesh Bhatgurki visited the accident site for an inspection following the news. Authorities have impounded the offending vehicle, and an investigation is actively progressing at the Kamalapura police station.
