Blake Putman, a personality from the TLC reality series 'Meet The Putmans,' recounted the tragic car crash six months ago in September 2025 that resulted in the deaths of his parents and wife. The family was just one mile from their Michigan home when a semi-truck disregarded a stop sign and collided with Putman's vehicle, which was carrying eight people.
His parents, Bill and Barb Putman, and his wife, Megan, were pronounced dead at the scene. Putman sustained multiple broken bones, including in his neck, alongside lacerations. His son Noah and daughters Lulu and Alena, as well as his niece Gia, also suffered injuries, including traumatic brain injuries for Noah and Gia.
Gia, who had undergone ten brain surgeries, has shown remarkable improvement since returning home in January and has even begun speaking simple words. Her father, Brandon Putman, emphasized that her airlift to the hospital was life-saving and described her recovery as a miracle.
The truck driver, Pavel B. Shchukin, pleaded no contest to three misdemeanor counts of a moving violation causing death and received a one-year jail sentence and fines. During Shchukin's sentencing, Blake and his brothers offered him a Bible and expressed forgiveness.
The Putman family, known for living all 25 members under one roof in their reality show, has been leaning on their faith and mutual support. They celebrated Bill and Barb's 43rd wedding anniversary in January, sharing their grief and enduring love.
