Antiques Expert Rescued From Woods After Hip Fracture

A television antiques expert, Jo Roberts, was rescued from isolated woodland after fracturing her hip during a dog walk. The 73-year-old was exercising near her Kenilworth home when her dog's sudden movement caused her to fall. She found herself stranded and in severe pain, unable to call for help as she had intentionally left her mobile phone behind for a peaceful outing.

After approximately an hour, another dog walker discovered Jo and alerted emergency services. Despite difficulties in pinpointing her exact location, paramedics arrived, administered pain relief, and carefully carried her out of the woods on a stretcher. She was transported to Warwick Hospital for further treatment and underwent a hip replacement operation the following day.

The surgery was successful, and Jo was discharged after a week. Expressing gratitude for the exceptional care received, Jo is now a strong advocate for carrying a fully charged mobile phone and the what3words app when venturing outdoors, emphasizing that her situation could have been far worse.
