Rescue operations concluded Monday in northern Tripoli after a residential building collapsed, claiming 15 lives and injuring eight people. This tragic event, occurring in the Bab al-Tabbaneh neighborhood, led to a government order for the evacuation of 114 other old and poorly maintained buildings in the city.
The six-story building, which housed 12 apartments and was home to 22 residents, fell on Sunday. Search and rescue teams worked through the night to recover victims. The Lebanese Army deployed to manage angry residents demanding accountability for negligence.
