Treasure Valley Commuters Face Upcoming Bridge Closures and Detours

On November 11, 2025, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced upcoming road work that will affect two key bridges over Interstate 84 in the Treasure Valley region. Starting on Monday, November 13th, ITD will institute lane reductions on the I-184 Connector in Boise for two weeks to treat the asphalt and repaint the road. This work will involve nightly lane reductions from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., as well as daytime lane striping when temperatures are warm enough.
Additionally, ITD will begin the latest round of closures at the Karcher Road Interchange in Nampa on Monday and Tuesday nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. This will allow crews to remove and replace large steel structures that currently hold signs above the bridge. These closures will force detours for drivers traveling on Karcher Road, also known as Idaho 55.
The work on these two bridges is expected to impact the more than 130,000 vehicles that make daily trips along I-84 between Boise and Nampa. Treasure Valley commuters should plan for delays and seek alternate routes during the scheduled closures and lane reductions.
