A potential train disaster was narrowly avoided on Thursday night when the Katihar-Delhi Champaran Humsafar Express (15705) collided with a buffalo. The incident occurred on the railway tracks between Valmikinagar and Paniyahwa in West Champaran.
The train was stranded for nearly two-and-a-half hours, leading to significant disruptions in rail traffic and the halting of several other trains. The quick thinking of the train driver was credited with preventing a much more severe accident.
