According to reports, the incident took place around 11:30 AM when the young child's jumper became entangled in a tree as he was running around the nursery grounds.
Nursery staff discovered the boy unresponsive and immediately attempted to provide CPR, but the child was pronounced dead at the scene. An air ambulance was dispatched but was unable to reach the nursery in time. Prosecutors have since launched a manslaughter investigation, and the facility will remain closed at least until next week.
The Koiné cooperative, which manages the nursery, expressed their profound grief over the tragedy, stating that the loss of the child, who they viewed as their own, has left them deeply shaken. Local residents were also visibly distraught upon hearing the news, with footage showing horrified onlookers crying outside the nursery.
