Summary

Toyota has issued a recall for 508,354 of its 2025-2026 Camry Hybrid models, impacting vehicles produced between August 15, 2024, and June 9, 2026. The recall stems from a software error in the instrument cluster's combination meter, which can cause the display to go blank during the vehicle's startup sequence. This malfunction means critical indicators and signals may not be visible to the driver. Consequently, the issue can raise the risk of a crash by hindering a driver's ability to perceive vehicle conditions or intended maneuvers.
The affected vehicles are equipped with a specific 7-inch combination meter; similar Toyota and Lexus models with different software are not impacted. Toyota is in the process of notifying all known owners, who are advised to schedule a visit to a Toyota dealer for a complimentary software update. Notification letters are expected to arrive by September 21. Owners can also contact Toyota customer service for more information regarding this safety recall.
