A three-year-old boy, Reuben Reynolds, tragically died after being discovered face down in a garden pond at his home in Crosby, Merseyside. The incident occurred on Saturday, July 18.
Emergency services, including Merseyside Police and the North West Ambulance Service, were called to the property on Brownmoor Lane. Reuben was rushed to Alder Hey Children's Hospital via ambulance.
He sadly passed away at the hospital late on Sunday, July 19. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place this week. Senior coroner Anita Bhardwaj opened an inquest into the death at Bootle Town Hall.
Merseyside Police have stated that enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident, and officers are supporting the family.
