Summary
- Austin-Bergstrom International Airport experienced 127 cancellations.
- Airport anticipates half typical weekend passenger numbers.

As freezing temperatures sweep across the nation, a significant number of flight cancellations and delays are being reported. In Central Texas, the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) has been particularly affected. As of Saturday, FlightAware data indicated 127 flight cancellations and 24 delays at AUS. The airport's Blue Garage, Level 6, has also been closed due to the severe weather conditions.
Airport officials anticipate a substantial reduction in passenger traffic, expecting around 11,000 passengers for the weekend, which is roughly half of a typical weekend for this time of year. While Southwest Airlines has confirmed smooth operations at AUS, United Airlines has acknowledged proactive flight cancellations in hard-hit regions, which may cause residual disruptions. Travelers are strongly advised to check their flight statuses before heading to the airport.
