Two individuals were taken to the hospital after becoming trapped beneath a pop-up tent that collapsed under heavy snowfall. The incident happened on Sunday evening at the Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center in Medford, Massachusetts. Responding officers had to extricate the two residents from under the collapsed tent. Both were transported to a local hospital with injuries described as serious but not life-threatening.
The collapse occurred during a major storm system that impacted a wide area, bringing heavy snow and cold temperatures. Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and southern New Hampshire were forecast to receive a foot to 18 inches of snow. Greater Boston and the South Shore anticipated around 16 to 22 inches of snow, with some areas expecting up to 2 feet.
