A remarkable reunion took place between Adin Smith, a 19-year-old, and the paramedics who saved him following a devastating car crash on October 31, 2025. Smith lost control of his vehicle, colliding with a pole in an incident he has no memory of. His family believes he was driving home from work in St. Louis at the time.
Paramedics Geoff Vogel and Jordan Houston described Smith's injuries as severe, with a typical survival rate of only 1%. His injuries included a fractured tibia protruding through the skin, a crushed left tibia with no blood flow, and broken femurs. He also suffered a brain bleed, collapsed lung, and lacerated spleen.
Smith spent 47 days hospitalized, undergoing nine surgeries and both of his legs were amputated. He has since been fitted for prosthetic legs and expressed a strong determination to walk independently by the end of the following year, calling the paramedics his 'angels.'
Vogel and Houston noted how outstanding it was to see Smith make a full recovery, calling it a miracle given his condition at the scene. They expressed their joy at his remarkable progress.
