Summary
- 13-year-old sisters took mom's SUV for a late-night joyride
- Crashed into air conditioners, condominium, fence, and curb
- Neighbors woken up by loud crash and screaming girls

On the night of November 11, 2025, two 13-year-old sisters in New Jersey decided to take their mother's white SUV for a late-night joyride. The girls, whose names were not released, were "bored" and made the irresponsible decision to go for a spin around their neighborhood.
Tragically, the joyride ended in disaster when the sisters crashed the vehicle into the back of a condominium in the Canterbury Mews Condominiums complex. The collision also damaged two air conditioners, a fence, and a curb. The loud crash startled frightened residents out of their beds, with one neighbor, Alisa DeMayo, reporting that she heard the girls screaming, "I'm scared, I'm scared!"
According to the Washington Township police chief, Patrick Gurcsik, the girls had been allowed to stay up late and their moment of boredom led to the reckless incident. Fortunately, no one, including the drivers, was injured in the crash. However, the damage to the property could have been much worse.
The crash was captured on surveillance footage by a resident, Don Prevary, who compared the sound to a gunshot. The girls reportedly fled the scene within 20 seconds, but police were able to locate the damaged vehicle parked down the street. The girls will now face traffic citations, which could result in fines or community service.
