An inquest heard that Nischay, who was described as not being a strong swimmer, bravely entered the river after seeing another child in distress. Despite his limitations, he immediately went to their aid.
Emergency services arrived to find members of the public already searching for Nischay. A strong current was noted in the river. Sadly, Nischay's body was recovered by the fire service and brought ashore.
The coroner officially concluded Nischay's death as an accident, commending the efforts of the public who attempted the rescue. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with swimming in open water. Following this tragedy, new signage has been erected to warn others.
