Teen Drowns During Ganpati Immersion Ritual

A 16-year-old boy from Indore drowned in the Choral river near Kundiya village on Friday. The incident happened in the Balawada police station area while the boy, Hrithik, was participating in Ganpati idol immersion with around 30 relatives and friends.

According to Balwada SHO Ritesh Yadav, Hrithik entered the river to bathe after an aarti. He drowned after losing his footing in a deeper section of the river. Despite immediate rescue attempts by those present and the police, he could not be saved.

SDOP Archana Rawat and additional SP Shakuntala Ruhal visited the scene. The body was sent for a postmortem examination at Barwaha government hospital. Hrithik was the eldest of three siblings, and his family originally hails from Tharwar Tanda, having moved to Indore sometime prior.
