A 17-year-old BSc first-year student lost her life unexpectedly on Friday night in Betul, Madhya Pradesh, during a Ganesh idol immersion procession. The student, Pratiksha Verma, suddenly became unconscious at the JH College event. Her family has raised concerns, suggesting that the loud DJ sound at the procession might have critically impacted her health.
Pratiksha, who had a history of a childhood heart condition for which she received treatment, had reportedly been doing well for years. Witnesses state she complained of dizziness and then lost consciousness shortly after the DJ music began. She was rushed to the district hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.
Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding her death. While the family has mentioned her past heart condition, officials have indicated no immediate evidence links the DJ sound to the fatality. The exact cause of death is pending the results of a postmortem examination.
