A 16-year-old student in Ghaziabad died on Tuesday evening after an accidental fall from the 13th floor of his apartment at Rajnagar Residency. The incident happened as the Class 12 student, identified as Chaitanya Sharma, was putting up lights on his balcony for the Diwali celebrations. Police reported that Chaitanya slipped on a wet patch on the balcony floor and tragically fell to his death. His mother and sister were present in the apartment but did not witness the fall. A security guard discovered the boy and alerted the family.
This incident is the latest in a series of fatal balcony falls in the region. On October 30, a father and his 11-year-old son died after falling from their 23rd-floor apartment in Greater Noida West while preparing for a temple visit. Previously, on October 25, a three-year-old boy succumbed to injuries after falling from a 17th-floor apartment in Ghaziabad through an unguarded opening meant for an air conditioner.
