A dramatic rescue operation is currently underway in Sydney's north after a teenage boy was swept out to sea. The 18-year-old was caught by a large swell near Turimetta Beach Headland at Warriewood. Rescuers were dispatched to the scene and were observed abseiling down a towering cliff face to reach the distressed individual.
After a period where the boy could not be located, the swell pushed him onto jagged rocks, allowing rescuers to access him. A paramedic was airlifted to the location and found the teenager conscious and in a stable condition. He is not believed to be suffering from serious injuries and is expected to be winched to safety soon.
