Explosion Rips Through Surrey Home, Man Critically Injured

A serious house fire in Surrey, British Columbia, on Friday evening resulted in a young man sustaining life-threatening injuries. The man, in his 20s, was airlifted to the hospital with extensive second and third-degree burns.
Prior to the fire, residents reported hearing a significant explosion, which fire officials noted was consistent with the heavy structural damage observed at the Jersey Drive property. Twenty-five firefighters and twelve trucks were dispatched to the scene, successfully containing and extinguishing the fire swiftly.
Two other individuals were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. The Surrey Police Service is now investigating the cause of the explosion and subsequent fire. Authorities are appealing for public assistance, requesting anyone with information to contact the SPS or Crime Stoppers.
