Tragedy struck near Srinagar in Uttarakhand when a 21-year-old student from Dehradun died shortly after a bungee jump. The student, Lakshya Rastogi, had been visiting the area with his family, stopping at a bungee jumping facility near Mulyagaon after visiting the Dhari Devi temple.
Immediately upon completing the jump and returning to the platform, Rastogi complained of severe chest and abdominal pain and struggled to breathe. Although his family initially attempted to let him rest, his condition deteriorated rapidly. He was rushed to a community health center, where medical staff attempted resuscitation but were unable to revive him. Doctors there noted that the symptoms appeared directly after the bungee jump.
The preliminary cause of death is suspected to be a syncope attack or a cardiac event, but a postmortem examination is required for confirmation. Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, as the young man's life was tragically cut short following the adventurous activity.
