According to officials, the diversion was prompted by a failure in Engine Number 2. The flight safely landed back at Delhi's airport around 6:45 am. A SpiceJet spokesperson confirmed the incident, emphasizing that the aircraft landed without any fire warning and that all passengers were disembarked without issue.
In a separate incident on Sunday, an IndiGo flight from Ahmedabad with 144 passengers was diverted to Imphal due to dangerously low visibility at Dibrugarh airport caused by a severe dust storm.
