Birthday BMW Crash: 251kmph Speed Kills Two
21 Jun
Summary
- Two youths died in a speeding BMW crash on the Mumbai-Delhi Expressway.
- The car reportedly reached speeds up to 251kmph before crashing.
- Victims were returning from a birthday celebration when the accident occurred.

A birthday celebration tragically ended in death on the underconstruction Mumbai-Delhi Expressway near Badlapur early Sunday morning. A speeding BMW crashed into a divider, overturning multiple times and killing two young adults.
The impact was so severe that the vehicle was mangled, with parts scattered widely. One victim was dismembered, while another was ejected from the car, succumbing to her injuries shortly after.
Investigators are examining a social media post allegedly showing the BMW reaching speeds of up to 251kmph moments before the crash. This, along with eyewitness accounts of the car speeding between 2am and 3am, suggests reckless driving.
The deceased were identified as Yogesh Negi, who was celebrating his birthday, and Rebecca Jacob. The injured driver, identified as Angad, is hospitalized. Police suspect the driver may have lost control while attempting to avoid a concrete barricade on the unfinished expressway.
The incident highlights ongoing concerns about unauthorized access to the expressway, which remains closed to the public despite partial completion. Warning boards are frequently ignored by locals using the stretch for leisure drives and racing.
