A devastating incident unfolded on Sunday near Adamuz, close to Cordoba, Spain, resulting in the derailment of two high-speed trains. The collision claimed the lives of five people, with additional passengers suffering injuries.
The accident involved an Iryo train traveling from Malaga to Madrid, which derailed onto an adjacent track, subsequently causing another train traveling between Madrid and Huelva to also derail. The Iryo train had departed Malaga only about ten minutes prior to the crash.
In response to the tragedy, Spanish rail network operator Adif has suspended all train services between Madrid and Andalusia. Emergency services, including numerous ambulances and support vehicles, were dispatched to the scene, and rail traffic has been completely halted.
