Two Southwest Airlines aircraft were involved in a ground incident at T.F. Green International Airport on Thursday evening. The collision occurred as Southwest Flight 3515 was taxiing.
Its wing made contact with the tail section of another Southwest flight, identified as Flight 3409. Fortunately, both planes were able to return to their gates under their own power.
Passengers and crew deplaned normally, and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Southwest Airlines has confirmed they are aware of the situation and will conduct thorough inspections of both aircraft before they resume service. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the cause of the taxiway collision.
