Tragedy struck early Friday morning in Megha village, Barwani district, when a venomous snake fell from the roof of a mud house, biting two sleeping relatives. Rakesh was bitten on the wrist, and as he reacted, the snake bit his nephew, Dharmendra, on the waist.
Dharmendra managed to alert his family about the venomous bite and the attack on Rakesh. However, Rakesh passed away within 30 minutes from the snakebite's effects. Family members rushed Dharmendra to the government hospital in Pati, but he tragically died on the journey.
Local police conducted an inspection at the scene and sent both bodies for postmortem examinations. The deaths have caused significant distress and fear among the residents of Megha village and surrounding areas. Rakesh was later cremated in his village, while Dharmendra was laid to rest in his native Chandan Devi village.
